I like seeing your bike and picturing you tooling all around Leiden. That is one serious lock! Do bikes ever get stolen there? As I recall from our trip to Amsterdam, bikes are sometimes "borrowed" for awhile.
I also liked that lovely message from your teacher. I'm sure they do miss you and that you miss them too but the adventures you're having are ones you'll remember all your life.
Hi Kai, I do want to respond to your question about my bike. My bike never gets stolen b/c it's been in the garage unridden for four years! But that's got to change...biking is so much fun. When I was young, we left our bikes unlocked and no one stole or "borrowed" them...I lived in a small town then...we didn't lock our doors either. And at Oberlin, a real biker town, there was a bit of borrowing. Maybe I should get a BIG colorful lock like yours before I venture out here in Westerly, though Westerly has almost no crime. Boring for police, good for us residents, I'd say. Great blog, Kai!!!
Great blog post, Kai! I love the photo of the violin in the shop. Are those the hands of the violin maker?

My bike hasn't get stolen! It hasn't gotten stolen because I lock it up. And I lock it up every time I park my bike.
DeleteHow are YOU doing? Has your bike ever been stolen?
Love,
Kai
